Treadmill Walking Workouts
With adult obesity on the rise more people than ever are turning to a treadmill to get the exercise they need as
they try and shed the accumulation of unwanted pounds. Most people start out by jumping on any of a variety of fad
diets that promise so much and offer so little in real results. Of course they all work for a short time, but your
body adjusts and more often than not you end up gaining more back than you lost. Combining a good healthy diet and
the right treadmill walking workouts is the best, tried and true way to lose weight and keep it off and get
healthier at the same time.
Stop the Confusion
One of the first things that most people tend to think is that the only way you are going to get
anything realistic from a nice Proform treadmill is to engage is an elaborate
workout that involves marathon running sessions at ridiculous paces. This simply is not true; this information is
confusing and misleading as well as potentially harmful. The real truth is that well balanced treadmill walking
workouts for 20 to 300 minutes every day are far more likely to help you lose weight and regain your overall
health.
A good walking program will do wonders for your health, weight and your self esteem as you lose
those extra pounds and get back the body and the stamina you used to have. The one good thing about walking is that
it is a very simple exercise that almost anyone can take part in on a daily basis. For example Nordic Track treadmill is the perfect way to go for a walk every day, it is
not the only way to get your walk in as you can always go for a nice long walk outside when the weather is
nice.
Getting Your Life Back
Those who take part in treadmill walking workouts will tell you that they feel far healthier and
have lost far more weight than anyone who has jumped into one of those crazy "Fad" diets that seem to be all the
rage. Even if you do not own a treadmill quite yet, try joining a health club until you can afford one as that half
hour of walking will make a tremendous difference in your life. Once you have started walking, you will find that
having a treadmill at home is no longer a want to have item, it becomes a need to have item and you will do
whatever you can to buy one.
Most people recommend spending about half an hour per day walking as the best way to get your
life back under control. You should start out with a few minutes of stretching before you step onto the treadmill,
and then another 3 minutes at a slow warm up pace to get your muscles loosened up and ready to go. Add a 1% incline
to simulate the wind resistance you would feel outside and up the speed to a mid-range pace for 5 more minutes
before you crank it up to a fast walk.
This pace needs to challenge you without killing you and you should stay at this pace for a full
15 minutes if you can. Follow this up with an 8 minute cool down split into 5 minutes at mid pace and the last
three at your warm up pace. While this may not seem to be the most glamorous of the various treadmill waking
workouts, you will find that this low impact workout will help you to build your stamina and burn plenty of
calories. Walking is the perfect exercise to help you get your life and your health back under control and a simple
workout can be very effective.
